Punkaharju – nature and sauna experiences on a cottage holiday

Harjun Portti is a year-round destination in the Punkaharju, near Savonlinna, located in Eastern Finland. Located next to Punkaharju Nature Reserve and in the immediate vicinity of Retretti train stop, we have over 30 cozy cottages with own sauna and air-conditioning. The heart of our operation are café-restaurant, equipment rental and our brand new Sauna-area in our shore. We also have guest marina and also fuel distribution - as our story started 20 years ago as a petrol station!

Come by train to Punkaharju: Train stop of Retretti is right in front of the reception, direct access from Helsinki-Vantaa airport and short way to Savonlinna.

Accommodation: Cottages and holiday apartments with saunas. Punkaharju ridge area, and fascinating places to visit within walking distance, such as the Retretti Art Cave, which opens again for July-August. In Punkaharju, you can combine a nature and cultural trip in the same trip!

STAY AND RELAX AT LAKE SAIMAA

Punkaharju is surrounded by lake Pihlajavesi and Puruvesi, both part of lake Saimaa. In summer you can explore lake Saimaa by renting a kayak or a small boat from us, which you can take to the crystal clear water of Puruvesi-lake. Right next to holiday village there is numerous cycling and hiking routes, with view points to the lake. E-mountain bikes and fatbikes for rent.

In winter you can cross-country skii or skate along the frozen lake, on our over 20 km nordic skating network: An ice skating route on natural ice, which is one of the longest skating tracks in Finland! Experience the thrill of tour skating or go snowshoeing to the ridge area.

GREAT LOCATION

The train stop of Punkaharju Retretti is 100 meters from our café-restaurant and reception and also we are just next to the highway 14, so we are easy to find. The train to Savonlinna takes only around 20 minutes, from Helsinki you will reach us in 4 hours. Shop, equipment rental, restaurants and the nearby atrractions like Waterpark Kesämaa, all of these are within short walking distance from the cottages.
